About Me
I am, like you, many things.
I am a daughter, sister, friend, student, wanderer, empath, creator, and also a teacher.
I don’t always refer to myself as a yoga ‘teacher’ or ‘instructor’ because the truth about any yoga practice is that you cannot learn what is already within you from another person. So I am here to help guide you, to share with you how to create a fundamentally aligned practice that you can choose to deepen or explore however you feel called to each time you unroll your mat. Honestly, who says you even need a mat? There are many times, wherever I am, that my body says let’s take a forward fold or downward dog and see how it feels. This is one of the benefits of a deeply personal practice, we learn to listen and communicate with our bodies and how to respond to its needs: My goal is to help you make the connection between your mind and body on the mat through intentional breath work and honest self awareness.
Just about anyone can follow an instructor through a scripted, company manufactured yoga flow, and if that works for you- amazing, keep going! This one-size-fits-all approach has never been for me and it was my self taught home practice that motivated me to pursue my 200 YTT. In 2019 I took my first solo trip, the very first stamp in my passport, and landed at the breath taking Blue Osa in Costa Rica. It would be a grave understatement to say this trip changed my life. I won’t elaborate too much here but this trip taught me how to not just be alive, but how to actively and consciously participate in my life.
I’ll tell you the secret- it’s presence.
I will challenge you in our classes to be present (sometimes uncomfortably so) with yourself because this is where the magic happens, this is how we grow, and that is my only hope for everyone on this Earth, growth.
